Women’s state pension age has been rising since 2010 from 60 to 66 so that it is equal with the state pension age for men. However, many women claim that they have not been properly informed of the changes by the government. Lot’s of women born before the 1950s have had their state pension age increased and hundreds of thousands of women by as much as six years. The rise in pension age has affected many women’s retirement plans and many of those with little knowledge of the changes have been left in a difficult predicament believing they would be receiving the income payments much sooner than they will.
